BACKCOUNTRY PREP
FORGED Together: Backcountry Prep is designed to help athletes build confidence and capability in Idaho’s backcountry. While the program is centered around archery hunting preparation, many of the topics covered throughout the series also apply to hiking, backpacking, wildlife photography, and other backcountry pursuits.
Whether you are new to backcountry hunting or looking to sharpen your skills, this program provides structured classroom instruction and strength training focused on preparation for extended time outdoors in Idaho's terrain, with a particular emphasis on gear selection and pack preparation.
Program Schedule:
Participants will train alongside 15 members of Mission43 and Challenged Athletes Foundation.
July 20 - August 24: Classroom Instruction
Mondays | 6:30 AM
Topics throughout the series include Foundations & Idaho Regulations, Gear Selection & Pack Preparation, Food, Water & Shelter Systems, Scouting & Planning, Backcountry Execution, and Final Preparation.
Optional Pre-Class Rucks
Participants will have the opportunity to attend optional rucks before Monday’s classroom sessions. Recommendations for additional independent rucks will also be provided throughout the program.

No. Participants are welcome at any experience level. A major focus of this program is gear selection and pack preparation, and instructors will help participants understand what equipment is needed for their goals and experience level.

We ask that if you choose to participate in FORGED Together programming that you are able to commit to at least 90% of the in-person training sessions, held daily Monday - Thursday.

Cohorts of 15 individuals will be training together during the 6-week period for each FORGED TOGETHER program.
